Orthopaedic footwear has changed over the past
40 years and the styles, colours and materials available have
increased dramatically. As you can see from your search, the
range of styles we offer is quite varied.
We have always prided ourselves on being able to achieve
as close a match to our customer’s unique requirement
as possible.
However, it is important to consider when ordering one of
the more fashionable styles, the type of condition you are
catering for.
The type of construction has also changed. In previous times
it was always considered that welted footwear was by far and
away the most suitable. Not so anymore, although we still
make welted footwear the emphasis is now on the lighter construction
and the cosmesis is all important.
The provision of inlays / insoles has probably changed more
than any other aspect of orthopaedic footwear. Previously
footwear was supplied with a flat soft insole, probably with
a pad of some description. Nowadays, what we provide is very
sophisticated by comparison. Information is received by either
scans or impression blocks and the inlays / orthotics are
made in a vast range of materials including nora and carbon
fibre.
